Welcome, writers

I’m Rose, and I’ve been helping authors create prize-winning fiction and non-fiction for over fourteen years.

As an editor at Virago & Penguin Random House, and a tutor at Faber Academy and Arvon, I’ve published dozens of books and coached hundreds of writers.

I specialise in literary novels, historical fiction and memoirs, and I love working with neurodivergent creators and striking voices.

Let’s get started

You’ve written your novel or memoir, and you need help taking it to the next level.

You’ve got an idea, or a first draft, and you want regular meetings and feedback to keep you on track.

  • Working with Rose on my novel was nothing short of transformative. I can’t imagine a better editor to help bring a project into its next stage of life.

    Mario, creative edit, literary fiction

  • Her feedback completely transformed my book, and her ideas have taken it to a whole new level.

    Rozina, creative edit, historical fiction

  • Rose is an incredibly talented editor. She has an exceptional ability to transform your writing into the best version of itself without losing your authentic voice.

    Kira, creative edit, memoir

  • Working with Rose felt like having a secret (and very lovely) weapon at my disposal. I wouldn’t write another novel without her support.

Tania, creative edit, book club fiction

  • A brilliant editor, champion and expert problem solver, always calm and deeply thoughtful.

Christie Watson & Rowan Egberongbe, authors of No Filters

  • Such bright energy and encouragement.

Diana Evans, Women’s Prize-shortlisted author of I Want to Talk to You

  • Thorough yet patient and rigorous yet kind. I wanted an editor who would not only provide feedback but who would also be invested in me as a writer. And Rose delivered.

    Jazmyn, creative edit, literary fiction

  • Generous and sensitive and intelligent.

Karen Russell, National Book Award-shortlisted author of The Antidote

  • Great generosity of spirit, intellect and passion.

Damian Le Bas, author of The Drowned Places

  • Insightful, talented, erudite.

    Erica, creative edit, literary fiction

  • Excellent. Before sending her edits, she reached out to confirm my expectations and ensure I was comfortable with the type of feedback she’d provide.

    Karl, creative edit, short stories

  • Rose is an extremely sensitive reader with a keen ability to keep you generating work and support your specific vision.

    Jocelyn, book coaching, memoir

  • Rose helped me move a big, unwieldy idea forward in clear, manageable steps. Beyond her remarkable ability to shape a story, she brought warmth, humor, and genuine joy to the process.

    Zachary, book coaching, non-fiction

I offer a short video call to discuss queries and help you work out if I’m the right editor for you.
